Special-care home, fire marshal at odds over locks on doors for patient safety
The Grass Home at 774 Coverdale Road in Riverview is one of the many local special care facilities with such locks in place. The special care home, which has operated since 1984, has 24 residents including 18 requiring level 3 care. Those 18 include people with cognitive problems, such as Alzheimer's or dementia and they require 24-hour supervision.
