Member of Parliament met with stakeholders on September 23, 2009 to discuss seniors issues. Something has to be done on the GIS.(Guaranteed Income Supplement.
It is often decreased when Canadian Pension Plan is adjusted upward for cost of living resulting in " clawback" In addition the "caps" on total income for fixed income individuals must be reviewed.
Other issues discussed were the Horizon Grant application process, Housing Grants,Canada Health Act, National pharmacare Program, H1n1 Flu vaccine,Elder abuse and the HST/ GST.
