Seniors: Minister says separation 'unfortunate' but families have to help with nursing home cost.

While 85 per cent of nursing home residents are subsidized by the province at a cost of $220 million annually, Kenny said families have to help cover the costs of care.

The province will continue to assess on an individual basis cases involving couples who are having financial difficulties he said.
