Cassista says that Mr Fitch did refer to seniors having the ability to pay concept which is a concern to the Coalition. Liquid assets were taken into account under the Lord government. The coalition lobbied for the removal of liquid assets last election and does not favor this process says Cassista.
Bruce Fitch said that having aging parents himself he understands that seniors issues are of an importance since we have an aging population. When asked if he thought the points outlined in the document were durable, he stated that he could not argue against them says Cassista.
The Coalition is booking meetings with various politicians to get their point across and to make sure they understand the real issues facing seniors.
