"I'm really alarmed that the government is now moving to increase to the daily fee for nursing homes," Cecile Cassista said.

Social Development Minister Sue Stultz says the provincial government is considering an increase to the fees. But she has said the government will keep the amount seniors pay for nursing home care based solely on income, while their assets, including life savings, remain protected.
