Cecile Cassista, executive director of the Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents' Rights, said in an email she is concerned about the cuts and would like the minister of state for seniors to become a "full-fledged minister."
Cassista said she has asked the Tories which ministers will be cut but has not received a response.
However, Alward said he can assure any stakeholder group in New Brunswick that a reduction in the size of cabinet does not mean a reduction in the size of departments or other agencies.
