Dealing with an aging society Published Tuesday - June 22nd, 2010

Moncton is growing more quickly than many other cities in Canada. But much of our population growth is due to the increasing numbers of seniors, and that trend is the same across the country.

In New Brunswick, the government has decided that keeping seniors in their own homes, instead of caring for them in residential facilities, is the healthiest and most financially responsible way to deal with the aging population.

Beginning tomorrow, the Times & Transcript will look into the impact the increasing population of seniors will have on our region through a four-part special report titled Grey Matters.
