Ratchford said the Liberal government made major improvements since taking power in 2006, particularly ending the practice of seizing seniors' assets to pay for nursing home care.
She wishes the Liberals would take their commitment one step further by exempting veterans pensions from total income when calculating a senior's ability to pay for nursing home care. She also would like to see ambulance fees eliminated for all residents.
