Province will scrap ambulance fees Published Thursday November 25th, 2010

"It's our commitment. It's in our platform. The premier was very, very clear that every single priority of New Brunswickers will be achieved," she said. "So we're working toward that as well. But obviously not everything can be put in the throne speech."

When the fees are removed, that will make New Brunswick the only province in Canada without some form of fee for service.

Chris Hood, executive director of the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick, said that if removing ambulance user fees makes it easier for people who need an ambulance to access the care that they need, the move will be worth the fiscal strain.
