The executive director of the Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Rights here in New Brunswick was considerably less impressed, calling the measures window-dressing to mask far more significant issues.
"What's a $300 tax credit?" Riverview's Cecile Cassista asked. "What the government should be doing is look at a national home care program."
Cassista also poured water on the other measures for seniors as not as significant as government had made them seem.
"There's no celebration for seniors in the federal budget, and there's certainly none in the provincial budget either,"
