The aging population is the most vulnerable group during the flu Season
The influenza vaccination is highly recommended by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) for Seniors. The importance of preventive measures through vaccination will enhance the well-being for a quality of life for all seniors.
The Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents' Rights publicly endorses the high-dose influenza vaccine for Seniors and is calling on the Higgs Government to ensure sufficient supply of the vaccine is purchased to protect seniors against the flu season for 2021.
In 2020, during the pre-election, the Higgs Government promised that they would publicly fund and implement the high-dose flu vaccination for all citizens over the age of 65.
The government fell short of providing the high-dose vaccine to all seniors in 2020.
The Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents' Rights calls on the Higgs Government to undertake to commit and ensure that all seniors for 2021 be provided with the high-dose vaccine as committed during the re-election campaign.
