Government: Booklet unveiled that informs public about reporting abusive situations

Some New Brunswick senior citizens are routinely abused and neglected by their families and spouses but most cases are never reported, but the provincial government is hoping new resources unveiled in Dieppe on Thursday will help inspire more people to come forward to protect them.

Cecile Cassista, executive director of the Coalition For Nursing Home Residents' Rights in New Brunswick, said the booklet is a positive step, but the provincial government needs to do more to prevent abuse and punish abusers.
